Amor Mundi – Love for the world
This year, we've invited artists from all continents!
Fabrice Monteiro + The Herds
Africa: Senegal/South Africa (Awaiting final text; a proposal has been sent to him based on online sources.) At Rosendal, Fabrice Monteiro presents his latest photograph from the series The Prophecy, created in collaboration with The Herds. The Prophecy depicts the global crisis in an age of climate change and environmental destruction through a vision that is both haunting and beautiful. The project began in 2013, inspired by West African masks and animism. The striking and painful figures were created in collaboration with Senegalese fashion designer Doulsy. The Herds is an art project traveling from Congo to the Arctic with puppet animals to raise awareness about the climate crisis.
MOTOMICHI
Asia: Japan MOTOMICHI was born in Japan, now a New York resident, where he works with animation and projection art. His style is characterized by minimalism in black, white, and red, where mythology and cryptozoology inspire his playful yet confrontational monster figures. His commissions include a 52-screen installation for the MTA in New York and an immersive piece for The Balloon Museum in San Francisco.
Eka Acosta
Antarctica: Argentina Eka Acosta is a sculptor from Argentina. After working with design and interiors in Argentina and Paraguay, he developed his artistic practice in Europe. His passion for sculpture and animals has led him to refine his technique, creating life-sized animal sculptures from steel mesh. This transparency gives the pieces a unique dimension, allowing viewers to experience the animal from multiple angles at once.
Minna Leunig
Australia Minna Leunig is based in Darwin, on Larrakia Country. Her art celebrates the wild, the living, and the interconnected – where humans and animals coexist equally in a playful, sensual, and resilient world. With bold silhouettes and organic lines, she paints works that move between seriousness and absurdity. Minna is passionate about the environment, social justice, and Indigenous rights, and wants art to be accessible – outside galleries and close to everyday life.
Vira Kiktso
Europe: Ukraine Vira Kiktso is an artist and creator who explores the world through abstract, geometric works. Inspired by lines, circles, and patterns, she works intuitively, with a love for detail and reflection. Originally from Ukraine and living in Sweden since childhood, the war in her homeland has had a deep impact on her artistic expression. For Vira, art is a place of peace, strength, and hope, where she creates pieces that remind us of the beauty in both simplicity and complexity.
MCXT
North America: USA MCXT is an artistic collaboration between Monica Canilao and Xara Thustra. Together, they create art that expresses care, joy, and togetherness – through murals, performance, installations, costumes, film, and painting, often in public and inviting spaces. Monica works with recycled materials and themes of home, time, and community. Xara has roots in San Francisco’s queer resistance movements, with a background in graffiti, activism, and collective art production.
Lapiztola
Central America: Mexico Lapiztola is an artist collective from Oaxaca that uses art as a creative weapon to spread political and social messages. The name Lapiztola combines “lapiz” (pencil) and “pistola” (gun). The group, formed in 2006, primarily uses photography, digital media, and collage to create stencils for their murals and street art. With a technique based on stencils and screen printing, they create visual dialogues with society.
HOLEM
France / Sweden A graffiti artist raised in Paris, now based in Stockholm, where he shares his passion for graffiti through collective projects and workshops. Together with friends, he will give a new look to a flock of peace birds at Rosendal.
Selva Studio
An art studio located in Bagarmossen, Stockholm, that invited all the artists to Rosendal and hosted a film screening at the studio of the Brazilian documentary "Eu sou uma arara" by Rivane Neuenschwander and Mariana Lacerda, to inspire and invite a group of artists to create a response for the Rosendal Garden Party. Participants: Aylen Bertlin, Ita Drew, Árdís Krauze Modén, Malou Bergman, Frida E. Elmström
