Line up

The War On Drugs (US)

Led by Adam Granduciel, The War On Drugs have steadily evolved since their 2008 debut. They have removed the lines between underground and mainstream, between the obtuse and the anthemic. Along the way, they have won prestigious awards. Made bigger tours. Composed the soundtrack of the lives of their ever-growing fan base. And also become one of the biggest and most celebrated rockbands of the 21st century.

In 2021 The War On Drugs released their fifth album I Don't Live Here Anymore - a record that landed on numerous best albums of the year lists. In 2023 we have the great pleasure of welcoming the band to Rosendal.

Warpaint (US)

Return of the queens! Six years after their last album - the magnificent Heads Up - Warpaint last year released the album Radiate Like This, which was greeted with great reviews in both Mojo and NME. 14 years after their groundbreaking debut, we once again fell head over heels in love with the band's dreamy and slightly psychedelic indierock.

Now, we are looking forward to hearing both new and old favorites live. On June 9, Warpaint will shine together with both the sun and the audience at Rosendal.

Jehnny Beth (FR)

Jenny Beth is one of the most powerful females on the indierock scene. As front figure in Savages the challenged all the tired cliches about what it means to be a female in a rockband. Now she has a successful solo career, and smashing it with Chase It Down, I'm The Man och Boy/Girl + all the other favourites.

Amason (SE)

Amason are like the sound of summer, dreams, hope and expectations, seasoned with a pinch of melancholy. Their featherlight sound in combination with Amanda Bergman’s great vocals have resulted in so many musical highlights, that it’s not even worth trying to list them all. But even though the expectations were high – Amason still managed to amaze us when they released the album Galaxy II in 2021. Ever since then we’ve dreamt about getting to see them live in a beautiful park when the summer is at its newest.

Hannes (SE)

There’s something undeniably appealing with the alternative R’n’B artist Hannes. Since the acclaimed 2019 debut EP ‘Summer 3000’, his unique and jazzy lo-fi mixture of ALT-R&B, pop and indie/alternative, combined with honest and emotional lyrics about sadness, longing and self-doubt has made Hannes one of Scandinavia’s most exciting artists.

After the Swedish Grammy nomination for his 2021 EP When the City Sleeps, a win in the category Video of the Year at the Swedish Independent Music Awards and a sold-out 2022 spring tour, Hannes followed up a rarely seen success with the hit single Stockholmsvy; The song whose two chords and melancholic melody hardly could have escaped anyone.

After it last week became clear that neither Stormzy nor Tiana Major9 could attend this year’s Rosendal Garden Party, we have worked hard to find a good solution with a great club night at Banankompaniet instead.

Now, another unfortunate incident has occurred. Due to production-related reasons (beyond our control), Asake has had to make the difficult decision to cancel the concert in Sweden on June 8th. We assure you that this decision was not taken lightly, and he tried until the last moment.
